Hot Sauce #66 – Bald Eagle Foods Hot Sauce Review

Bald Eagle Foods Hot SauceI’ll know in a few minutes whether this hot sauce is any good. But I already love it for the bottle.

Isn’t that old delivery truck on the front of the bottle just so cool? Kudos to the designer of this label.

Bald Eagle Foods Hot Sauce Label

I noticed something else while looking at the label. It just says Bald Eagle Foods “Hot Sauce.” No qualifiers. So, I guess they only make the one. I checked the website and, sure ‘nuf, this is it. The website lists it as (spelled wrong) Cayenne Hot Sauce. But it is their only one. The do also make, or at least sell, dips, mustards, wing sauces, BBQ sauces, salad dressings, salsas and sausages. Sausages??? Cool.

As you would expect from a company that sells only one hot sauce, this is an all-purpose table sauce. It’s not very hot and has a nice blend of tastes.  I detect the cayenne, garlic and tomatos.  Naturally the salt and vinegar are upfront, too.

You can use this on pretty much anything you sprinkle a table, Louisiana or even Mexican-style sauce on — pork, fish, tacos, eggs, etc.

There is nothing here to offend and this would be a good choice for casual hot sauce users or to give to someone who doesn’t indulge in the heat often.  A true chilehead will have plenty of favorites they prefer.
